MEET THE NIXSA AMBASSADORS

Rob Fowlie

Rob Fowlie is a big wave surfer who has recently tackled Nazare. A Cornish Waterman with the mindest to push limits and the calm to do it right.

WARRICK MURPHY

Warrick is a lifelong bodyboarder with a passion for riding all types of wave crafts—Foamies especially. Originally from the Gold Coast, Australia - now based in Newquay, he’s often found chasing low tide sessions at North Fistral or Crantock when they’re firing. But for him, nothing quite compares to TOS back home, where he first learned to dropknee and fell in love with booging.

BRENDON VAN ROOYEN

Originally from Ramsgate, South Africa now based in Cornwall, UK. Brendon has been bodyboarding for over 30 years, riding both prone and dropknee, with occasional stand-up surf sessions thrown in. He’s competed on the SABA tour in South Africa and, more recently, placed 3rd in the English Nationals, along with several podium finishes in the Cornish Bodyboard Series. His favourite breaks include Southbroom and Lucien Beach, plus a few heavy reef slabs like Black Rock, Ifafa, and Amy’s Reef. He’s also scored waves in Sri Lanka and Morocco, always chasing that next epic session.

PHIL UNDERWOOD

Phil has been bodyboarding for many years and is known for his dedication to finding pumping, empty waves. He’s usually the first one in the sea at first light, always pushing his limits and chasing waves of consequence. His goal? To capture powerful UK wave footage and keep raising the bar. You can catch his footage on Instagram @boogieviews

MYTHOLOGY AND ORIGIN

THE NIXSA NAME

As you look out across the waves crashing on the shore, in the distance you may just be able to catch a glimpse of him rising. Rising from the ocean depths with intent, power, majesty and intensity. He directs and controls the movement of rain, the ebb and flow of the tides, and the instinctive responses upon the earth. As he speaks, we hear the rumbling of waves exploding, the murmur of distant rushing rivers, flowing in his voice. This is NIXSA, Elemental King of Water.

A BIT ABOUT

WHAT WE DO

NIXSA is a UK based wetsuit brand providing affordable, high quality, eco-friendly and sustainable range of products for wave riders and water sport enthusiasts across the globe. Founded by Jamie Sargent, a Cornwall local and a life long wave rider. A few years back he noticed the lack of eco-friendly wetsuit options available and began research into alternative materials that offered the performance today’s wave riders crave.

Long gone are the days of wearing extremely thick petroleum based rubber suits just in order to stay in the water during the winters. With the aim of avoiding ‘tech’ gimmicks, he set out to develop a simple, functional suit based on sustainable materials. Enter the limestone rubber from the Yamamoto Corporation. Combined with a compression fitting cut, the core NIXSA wetsuit line was born. The feedback has been extremely positive from those riders who have tested and used the various suits.

SUPPORTING COASTAL ORGANISATIONS

I have been wearing Nixsa Wetsuits since day 1. The Suits are so flexible they don’t feel like you are wearing them. In winter I need a suit for the coldest & darkest mornings which doesn’t restrict my movement and my 5/3mm hooded suit keeps the cold at bay. For the rest of the year the 3/2mm suits offer the optimum levels of flex and temperature control.

BOOGIE VIEWS

Nixsa wetsuits are by far the best suits I have ever worn. This season Rob's running the NIXSA Yamamoto 5/3 Hooded - built for endurance, warmth, and lasting comfort in cold, heavy water.

Rob Fowlie
BIG WAVE SURFER

Been rockin’ the Nixsa 2/2 shorty lately and it’s become my go to summer wettie. Nothing better than a shorty for both dropknee and stand-up when the water’s warm. This things super stretchy, keeps you toasty and best of all - no dodgy neck flush or rub after hours in the water. Slips on and off without a drama too, which is always a huge bonus. I’m loving the smooth skin lining around the inner legs. It keeps the suit snug and stops any water coming in. If you’re chasing a shorty for the warmer months, I’d highly recommend it.
